SPEED, the new patented slider for SKYLOTEC ascent systems, is cutting-edge. While work continues on improving the EN 353-1 safety standard for guided type fall arrest systems on a rigid anchor line, we have solved the problem with our new SPEED slider.
The principle of SPEED is simple: the pin is hidden in its housing and protected from accidental activation. With an additional lever, SPEED functions during ascent as a slider that pulls backward.
The slider remains short, as does the grip path. This provides greater comfort during ascent and limits injuries caused by falls.
In case of retraction device jamming, whether due to incorrect behavior or unfortunate conditions, the slider can only reach a fixed preset maximum speed. If exceeded, a secondary safety mechanism operates independently: a centrifugal brake pulls out the pin and locks the slider.
