Product description
The NOMIC ice axe is the benchmark for ice climbing. Perfectly balanced and equipped with balancing weights, it ensures exceptional movement. The PUR’ICE blade provides effective anchoring on all types of ice. Its geometry and dual handle offer various grip modes and stable hand changes. The grip is comfortable thanks to the ergonomic handle and adjustable GRIPREST support. Featuring a very small hammer, the head is protected and allows for hammering in a piton. Fully modular, the ice axe can be optimized according to the climb.
Description
Effective anchoring on all types of ice:
- perfect geometry and balance of the ice axe for exceptional efficiency,
- easy hooking thanks to the shaping under the head,
- PUR’ICE blade, sharpened at the tip (3 mm), offers excellent penetration on all types of ice, including the hardest. Serrated on the upper part, it provides stable support when the axe is in an inverted position,
- increased inertia and striking quality thanks to the MASSELOTTES.
Comfortable grip, suitable for technical ice climbing:
- multiple grip modes and stable hand changes thanks to the dual handle (high and low),
- offset lower handle to protect the hand from ice contact and ensure greater comfort when suspended,
- overmolded, dual-material upper handle for excellent grip and perfect cold insulation,
- hydroformed handle for optimal grip at the center.
Complete modularity thanks to the ALPEN ADAPT system:
- fully modular head to adapt the technicality of the ice axe,
- interchangeable ICE, PUR'ICE, DRY, and PUR'DRY blades to suit different climbing conditions (snow, ice, or mixed),
- interchangeable adze and hammer,
- supplied with MINI MARTEAU to protect the axe head and hammer in pitons,
- without accessories, the axe is lighter for dry tooling (only 500 g),
- overmolded and adjustable GRIPREST NOMIC support with three positions to fit all hand sizes, even with large gloves. The lower part has a serrated stainless steel spike to improve support when used as a walking axe,
- connection hole compatible with the V-LINK safety sling.
