All Trail Runner Free lamps have the power cord integrated in the headband. We call it Free Technology: a comfortable experience with the headlamp without distracting cables or tangled wires. No problem: just release the energy.

Case for hybrid battery included
The hybrid battery case can hold the included Silva rechargeable hybrid battery or 3 AAA batteries (not included).  This means that you can use the AAA batteries as a backup if you run out of charge of the rechargeable one.  The case has easy-to-grip surfaces and contains an integrated red rear safety light, adding additional visibility.  Trail Runner Free 2 Hybrid comes with the 1.25 Ah (4.6 Wh) rechargeable hybrid battery, designed for use with the hybrid battery case.  This compact battery is the perfect choice if you want to be really lightweight.  The battery has a built-in battery indicator and can be charged anywhere, using the included USB cable.

Individual distribution of light
With the 2nd generation Trail Runner Free, cooling has been optimized with a more powerful cooler that allows the lamp to produce up to 550 lumens (depending on the battery type) while maintaining comfort and low weight.  Our ultra runners have been an important part of the design process and the Trail Runner Free 2 series is made for running in every aspect.  All three projectors in this series are equipped with Silva Intelligent Light.  This means you get dual beam light technology in your headlamp, with perfect light settings for the ride.  Our unique combination of a long-range spotlight and a close-up projector results in less head movement, better control, better balance, less fatigue and greater speed.

Comfort in every detail
Despite the attention to technological discoveries, we have not forgotten the importance of weight optimization.  Each part of this headlamp has been compressed and the headlamp unit weighs only 61 grams (batteries excluded).  The headlamp is perfectly balanced, with smooth adjustments and a flat, soft fabric extension that does not twist.  The headband is soft, yet firm enough, with a silicone lanyard inside to stay in place.  The battery can be comfortably carried on the headband or kept warm in your pocket to extend its life by using the included textile extension.
