Giant is the innovative multifunctional descender, developed to satisfy the most demanding rope work and technical rescue specialists.
The patented operating mechanism, the incomparable strength of the hot-forged aluminum alloy structure and the particular ergonomic shape of the lever give Giant an exceptional controllability even with high loads, up to 250 kg / two people.
In addition to being a descender for rope access and for rescue, Giant is certified and can therefore also be used as a fall arrest device (for example during the splitting passages), as a lift characterized by great smoothness and as an insurance device for climbing.
The operating lever is equipped with:
- anti-panic safety system, which stops the descent in case of excessive pressure on the lever by the user;
- additional locking function with gradual actuation, perfect for the downhill pause phases.
A button allows to act directly on the cam for a rapid sliding of the rope in situations of limited or absent load.
Thanks to the opening flange with safety lever, it is possible to insert the rope without detaching the carabiner.
The large attachment hole allows the insertion of a second carabiner, in order to make the two flanges not openable. The circular rope housing, combined with the evident marking, inside and outside, allows a simple and intuitive installation.
Giant is the only rope tool to have obtained such a high number of certifications:
- EN 12841: device for rope access for semi-static from 10 to 11.5 mm;
- Type C: descender of the working line for loads up to 250 kg (from 11 to 11.5 mm) or 210 kg (from 10 to 10.9 mm);
- Type B: lift of the working line for loads up to 250 kg (from 11 to 11.5 mm) or 210 kg (from 10 to 10.9 mm);
- Type A: fall arrester for the safety line for loads up to 120 kg.
- EN 341 / 2A: descender for rescue and evacuation for 10.5 mm semi-static rope (Iridium 10.5 mm) for loads up to 200 kg.
- ANSI / AXIS Z359.4: descender for rescue and evacuation for 11 mm semi-static rope (11 mm Iridium).
- EN 15151-1: belay device for climbing from below on structures with mountaineering technique with dynamic ropes from 9.9 to 11 mm.
